Karen Green started life as a retail buyer for Tesco and Boots and had the best time building category growth strategies and negotiating amazing deals
She had a wake up call when she left retail and started selling for a living. She soon realised how tough it was on the other side of the table, facing well trained aggressive buyers on a mission to undermine her confidence in order to get the best deal.
She learnt hard and fast about how to prepare better, hone her negotiating skills and get better results and felt a real draw to help others sell more and sell better.
So, she wrote her first Amazon best seller, “Recipe for Success - the ingredients of a profitable food business”, which was shortlisted for the business book awards. And over the last 10 years, she has enabled hundreds of foodpreneurs to create revenue growth by tailoring their approach through a structured understanding of their business customers and achieving fantastic results – often 10x sales and profitability
From these results, emerged the Buyer-ology® framework, that I was using time and time again to create a structured analysis of target customers which then enabled my clients to tailor their approaches both in terms of sales and also ongoing relationships.
She took all this knowledge and wrote her second book, unsurprisingly titled – “Buyer-ology® - know your buyer, sell more and sell better.”
Her clients have ranged from UN International Trade Centre, Virgin and Enterprise Nation. She regularly comment on business news in diverse range of media from the Sun to the Telegraph, on radio and in trade press
In her talks, she draws on this breadth of experience and uses fascinating stories, case studies and research to illustrate the principles of selling more and selling better. She inspires the audience to get back out there and achieve success, whether they are presenting an idea, selling a product/service or interviewing for a new job.
Buyer-ology® is Karen's newest book, drawing on her extensive experience working in consumer good sales.
The book delves into how corporations buy and the challenges we face when trying to sell in this modern age.
